Put Valentine’s Day on hold! Galentine’s Day, celebrated on 13th February, comes first and foremost! It’s all about honouring the incredible women in our lives — our best friends, sisters, mums and, yes, ourselves.
Originally coined by Leslie Knope in Parks and Recreation, this unofficial holiday is a chance to celebrate female friendship, empowerment, and self-love.
But Galentine’s Day isn’t just about brunches and exchanging gifts, it’s also the perfect time to embrace self-care. Because, gal, loving yourself is just as important as cherishing others.
Self-care for Galentine’s Day
Whether you’re celebrating with your friends or having a solo self-care day, here are some ways to honour yourself this Galentine’s Day:
💖 Unplug & reconnect: Take a break from social media and spend quality time with gal pals or simply enjoy some alone time without your brain making your trigger finger twitch for your phone.
💖 Nourish your body: Take a break from whatever is normal for you. Cook a meal with the emphasis on nutrition if you normally grab n’ go. Or indulge in your favourite sweet treat, if that’s what would make you feel you care about yourself — balance is key!
💖 Pamper yourself: Have a home spa night, complete with face mask and your favourite scented candles (non-toxic soya wax, not paraffin, of course).
💖 Prioritise your health: Whether it’s getting enough sleep, staying hydrated, or addressing your intimate health, make yourself a priority on Galentine’s Day.
Self-care for ALL of you
Self-care isn’t just about bubble baths and face masks, it’s about listening to your body and addressing your needs, including intimate health. Self-care means looking after ALL of you!
Many women experience vaginal dryness due to menopause, hormonal changes, or lifestyle factors, and they don’t know that dryness is the issue. It can feel like stinging, burning or itching, but most women start to pay attention when sex becomes uncomfortable or even painful.
If you don’t address it, this can impact your life way beyond physical comfort, it can damage your confidence and your relationship, as it’s common to gradually try to avoid any kind of intimacy in case it leads to sex.
Yet vaginal dryness is one of the easiest women’s health conditions to resolve.
That’s where Hylofemme comes in. This gentle, hormone-free vaginal moisturiser has been clinically proven to provide long-lasting relief from dryness, helping you feel comfortable and empowered in your own skin.
Celebrate YOU this Galentine’s Day
Whether you’re gathering your girlfriends for a cosy night in, treating yourself to a solo date, or simply taking a moment to practice self-care, Galentine’s Day is a reminder that YOU matter.
💜 Cheers to strong women, self-love, and embracing our well-being—today and always! 💜
